MANDATORY REFUSE COLLECTION AND RELEASE FROM SUBSCRIPTION TO REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICES

Mandatory refuse collection (organised waste transport) and release from subscription to refuse collection services

Pursuant to § 69 of the Waste Act, a waste holder (e.g., the owner of a registered immovable) is considered to have subscribed to the organised waste transport services provided in the waste transport area of the place of residence or business of the waste holder.

In order to be released from subscription to waste transport services, the waste holder must submit the corresponding application to the local government. If the application is approved by the local government, the waste holder will be notified.

Information on decisions can be obtained from the local government or the self-service environment of the refuse collection company providing the service to you. There you will also find the invoices submitted to you for each period.

Waste holders who fail to provide confirmation by the prescribed due date are automatically considered to have subscribed to the organised waste transport services.

Thus, if you have not signed a contract with a refuse collection provider and you have not been released from subscription to refuse collection services by a written order, you will have automatically been entered into the contract signed by the local government with the refuse collection provider!
